I bought the Orginal Maxi Glide design a few years ago and it was magnificent! Unfortunately last year I lived abroad and did not use the correct converter and ruined my Maxi Glide. I recently bought a new one and was surprised by the new design.
The old version is definitely better. All of the new amenities ruin the effectiveness of the tool. The auto - shutoff feature is horrible! Several times while doing my hair I would have to turn up the heat to turn the iron on again. This tool is used by many women who like me have long thick, fine or curly hair and it takes more than 15 minutes to get our manes straight.
I am giving it a 3 because it does the job but does not get as hot as the old model. On the old model I never had to turn it up past 5 on this I have to start out at 7 and adjust throughout because it keeps turning off.
If you can get the old model its much better!
