What is the active ingredient of Unnique Advance?
Its main ingredient, the Brazilian Nut, contains more than 66.2% of fat that easily penetrates in the hair strands, composed at a rate of up to 25% saturated fatty acids. When am I able to wash the hair after the treatment?
After 15 minutes that the stylist/professional applying the treatment finishes ironing the hair, let it cool and rinse ONLY with COLD water, then proceed with Step 3 (Applying the finishing mask.)

How long should I wait before I can get the treatment done again? If done often will it damage the hair?

How much of the product should I use?
It depends on the length of the hair, but with practice the good professional will know just the right amount that has to be applied, without excess. Some people make the mistake of over applying thinking that the hair will be more straightened but that is not true.

After applying any of the Unnique Treatments, do I have to maintain my hair with some kind of product?
Yes. We recommend you use the Unnique after care line, which contains Unnique After Care Shampoo, Unnique After Care Conditioner and Unnique After Care Leave-in, that guarantees the results of your Keratin straightening system to last longer. It is very important to use Shampoo WITHOUT SALT, because the salt opens the cuticles and will combat the results of the Unnique KBS Keratin System.

Can I apply the treatment (Unnique Kbs, Advance, or Amino) the same day it has been colored, discolored or straightened?
Yes, without any collateral effects, you can apply whichever treatment you decide to get the same day after having another treatment such as coloring, discoloring, etc. without any negative effects.

My hair has Tioglicolate and Henna, can I use any of the Unnique Keratin Treatments?
Yes, they are all totally compatible.

I have mixed feelings regarding this product. The con's - the smell is sickenly sweet, it has a VERY STRONG chemical odor. Even with the window open and the fan blowing, it was buring my eyes and nose. It was also very harsh on my scalp and burned. This product it very abrasive, especially if you have sensitive skin. The pro's. It works very well, left my hair very shiney and soft. I can blow dry with a round brush and no flat iron needed. I also like this product because my hair dries striaght AND still has body to it - not at all limp. I give this product a 1 star for it's strong odor and abrasiveness and a 5 for it's effectiveness. Not sure if I will use again or not although I have quite a bit left. Will probably try another product that is less abrasive. Bottom line - if you have sensitive scalp, eyes or nose, use with caution; otherwise it works very well.
