Hair How To: Kristen Bell's Oscar Updo Hairstyle

Get Kristen Bell Gorgeous

Kristin Bell really surprised us on the red carpet last night! We always love her messy, more causal Oscar up-dos, so she really blew us away with her perfectly polished low-slung bun! This look is perfect for anyone thats looking for a classic style for a wedding, formal event, or girls night out on the town and heres how you can get it at home:

Step 1: Dry Smooth Hair

Begin with dry, smooth hair that is parted down the middle. Starting at the part, section out a 2 wide section that frames the face on both sides of the hair and clip out of the way.

Step 2: Low Ponytail

Pull the remaining portion of the hair straight back with no part into a low ponytail in the back. If you like extra volume in the crown, you can tease and smooth the hair back into a pony tail during this step, or use a bump-it if you would prefer the volume without the tease.

Step 3: Spray Hair

Lightly spray the smoothed back portion of your ponytail with a shine enhancing light hold hair spray or finishing spray.

Step 4: Smooth Sections

Taking one side section at a time, lightly smooth the sections back towards your ponytail holder. If your hair is long enough, wrap the ends of the side portions around your ponytail to conceal your hair tie and secure with a pin.

Step 5: Finish it Off

This look can be left as a super polished low ponytail OR you can achieve a more oscar worthy look like Kristin Bell by converting the ponytail into a smooth ballerina bun. If you have any tools like a Bun Ease, they would help make your bun look fuller and super polished! If not, a messy bun would also look fabulous with this style!

Enjoy!
