Gym Locker Hair Essentials
This entry was posted on October 5, 2011.
When I was in high school, one of the things that annoyed me most about P.E. class was I had it in the morning. It was my second class of the day, so many days of my freshman year were bad hair days because I didn't know what to do. This is assuming you aren't showering after gym class (because when I was in high school I didn't know anyone who actually did).
Keep In Your Locker:
- Pony tail elastics
- Bobby pins/clips etc.
- Maybe a headband or 2 (pick colors that complement your P.E. clothes for fun!)
- Dry shampoo
- Hair brush or comb (I love the brushes from Olivia Garden!)
- Optional: travel hair dryer (we like this travel dryer from Hot Tools because it's inexpensive and has a foldable handle!), hair towel.
Before P.E. Class:
When you're dressing out for class, now is the time to apply extra antiperspirant! So many girls I knew waited until after class. Tie your hair back with a ponytail elastic and pin as much of it out of the way as you can with your bobby pins or clips. A headband is also a cute way to keep your hair out of your face, but may not always be practical since sometimes they slip. If you have short hair (I had chin length hair in high school!) it's still a good idea to pin any face-framing hair or bangs back and off your face.
If your hair is damp or wet because you got in a great sweaty workout during class, try to dry it as best as you can. This is where your hair towel and/or travel dryer will come in handy! In a pinch, you could always tilt your head under the hand dryer in the bathroom, but a towel or travel dryer is much easier!
If your hair is looking greasy, stringy, or flat, spray some dry shampoo at the roots. Scrunch the product in your roots with your fingers, then try brushing your hair out again. A travel dryer also comes in handy for use with the dry shampoo. A quick blast with the dryer can help you refresh your style for the rest of the day!
When All Else Fails:
Dresscode-permitting, you could always just put on a cute hat! ;)
